At Family House there are a variety of things that volunteers could do. We are open 365 days a year and see over
800 families per year on average. With that many residents we need volunteers to help us with day to day things. We
are not looking for long term committment, unless that is what you would like to do so. Even if you can only spend 1
hour and only 1 time, that is enough to make a difference in a family's life.
We have walls that need painting, food serving (lunch and dinner), and clothes that have been donated need to be washed,
as with bedding and towels. We have a washer and dryer on-site but need the volunteers to keep them running. After our
library is opened (hopefully this fall) we will be needing volunteers to help with library activities. We also host Family Night
for the residents where the families watch a movie, eat snacks, and have an activity after, we could use many volunteers
for these nights.
Whether it's Family Night or any other time, our volunteer program is a great opportunity for individuals,
church groups - or any group, boy and girl scouts, or an entire family to give some time to those less fortunate. Just send
an email to Ms. Davis letting her know what you are interested in doing, or if your not sure just ask her where you
and/or your organization can help. Any time donated is very much appreciated and can make a big difference in
many of our families lives.
